Wlodzimierz Spodymek



He graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, saxophone class of dr. Paweł Gusnar. In addition to that, he completed doctoral studies at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, obtaining a doctoral degree in the artistic discipline of instrumental studies. He also attended the Karol Szymanowski State Secondary Music School in Katowice, saxophone class of prof. Bernard Steuer.
He has developed his skills in numerous master courses, taught by such remarkable saxophonists as: Claude Delangle (Paris), Ed Bogaard (Brussels), Detlef Bensmann (Berlin) and David Pituch (USA).
He has cooperated with several symphony orchestras including the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw, Sinfonia Varsovia, Sinfonia Iuventus, the Opole Philharmonic, the Płock Philharmonic and the orchestra of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw.
He has played concerts with renowned conductors, such as: Krzysztof Penderecki, Antoni Wit, Marc Minkowski, Frieder Bernius, Tadeusz Wojciechowski, Wojciech Michniewski, and others.
In the artistic season 2005/2006, he worked with the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, giving concerts all over Poland.
He has also collaborated with prominent musicians, such as: Leszek Możdżer, Ewa Podleś, Waldemar Malicki, Adam Makowicz, Silesian String Quartet and others.
He is currently employed as a pedagogue at the Fryderyk Chopin State General Primary and Secondary Music School in Opole and the Maria Szymanowska State General Primary Music School in Kedzierzyn-Kozle.
Together with his wife, he creates The Sax-Piano Duo, which performs the works of classical saxophone repertoire.
