Saxophonist Patrick Stadler is passionately dedicated to contemporary music. As a member of the four-piece ensemble Nikel, he plays a pioneering role in this field and contributes significantly to the creation of new works. Numerous CD recordings, appearances at renowned festivals and radio recordings testify to his great commitment.
In 2023 he was awarded the Swiss Music Prize for these achievements. As a soloist, he has performed with the WDR Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Resonanz, Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, the Basel Symphony Orchestra and the Basel Chamber Orchestra, among others.
Since 2019 Patrick Stadler teaches as professor for saxophone, chamber music and contemporary music at the Hochschule für Musik in Nuremberg and is a lecturer at the International Summer Courses for New Music in Darmstadt. Workshops and master classes at renowned universities worldwide complement his pedagogical activities.
