Matthias Anton discovered his passion for the saxophone at the age of 12 thanks to his father and grandfather, both of whom also played the saxophone. His musical talent was quickly recognized and encouraged.
Matthias studied saxophone at the Mannheim University of Music with Prof. Jürgen Seefelder. He then studied saxophone at the Stuttgart University of Music with Prof. Bernd Konrad.
Since July 2010, he has been an honorary professor of saxophone at the Trossingen State University of Music. Since 2020, he has been artistic director and conductor of the Bosch Big Band. Since 2021, he has been professor of Saxophone and Big Band Conducting at the Trossingen University of Music.
Matthias Anton plays the Soprano Serie III and Alto Mark VI saxophones.
