Shuen-Wen Tung is a renowned Taiwanese saxophonist, composer, and music educator, celebrated for his profound expertise in jazz and cross­ genre musical creations. He is an active figure in both the Taiwanese and international jazz scenes.

Born in Taiwan, Shuen-Wen Tung was exposed to music from a young age and majored in saxophone. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, with a degree in Jazz Performance, where he studied under several internationally acclaimed musicians.

Tung's music centers around jazz, incorporating elements of Taiwanese music, pop, and classical to create a unique “Oriental Fusion Jazz” style.

Released his debut solo album, One Day, in 2008, showcasing his original jazz compositions and improvisational skills, and won his first Golden Melody Award.

Tung co-founded the jazz band TFP, dedicated to blending Mandarin pop music with modern jazz, releasing 9 band albums, and winning two Golden Melody Awards. Other notable works include the soundtrack for the TV drama Hard to Say Goodbye.

Long committed to music education, Tung has taught at institutions like the National Taipei University of Arts, nurturing a new generation of jazz musicians. He has conducted master classes and workshops to promote the integration of jazz improvisation with pop music.
Active Participation in Social Welfare

For 10 consecutive years, he has collaborated with Taichung School for the Visually lmpaired to organize music summer camps.

Shuen-Wen Tung is hailed as a pivotal figure in Taiwan's jazz scene. Not only has he expanded the local possibilities of jazz with his exquisite skills, but through education and composition, he has also become a crucial bridge connecting Taiwanese culture with the international music stage. His works retain the free spirit of jazz while deeply embedding the emotions and stories of Taiwanese soil.
