Giovanni Cigui

Saxophonist, flutist, music educator, and cultural promoter with over 15 years of experience, with 
performances across Europe, the United States, and Latin America. 
My passion is sharing my artistic work, teaching people of all ages who love music, and 
continuously expanding my knowledge. 
When not on tour, I teach saxophone and improvisation through private lessons and at a private 
university in Mexico City

Giovanni Cigui is an Italian saxophonist based in Mexico, active on the international jazz scene. 

Since 2024, he has been part of singer Mon Laferte’s Autopoietica tour, and Femme Fatale tour (2026) as a saxophonist and flutist. 

He also collaborates with the Italian Cultural Institute in Mexico as music curator for the artistic residency program dedicated to promoting Italian jazz in the country, and since 2025 he has been teaching saxophone and improvisation at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Universidad Panamericana.


Since 2023, he has collaborated with the Italian Cultural Institute of the Italian Embassy in Mexico as music curator for artistic residencies aimed at promoting jazz and Italian artists in Mexico. His discography includes Rock (Auand Records, 2020), Cheewi Beats (Last Jeronimo Music Studios, 2020), and Live in Mexico with Emanuele Filippi. 
He has performed at festivals such as Umbria Jazz, Vive Latino, and Lollapalooza, as well as at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, collaborating with artists such as Mon Laferte, Tino el Pingüino, Jason Lindner, Panagiotis Andreou, and Luis Bonilla.


He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz from the University of the Arts in Graz and a Master’s degree from the Conservatory of Amsterdam. His career spans Europe, the United States, and Latin America, combining performance, composition, and teaching.
