Lynn Ligammari
Lynn, a saxophonist based in New York, has built an international career as a performer, band leader, and educator. She collaborates with numerous major artists and projects and performs on prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall and the Newport Jazz Festival. Highly active in music education, she teaches at Mannes Prep and has been a Teaching Artist at Lincoln Center Education for over 18 years. A multiple award winner, she is also a member of the Niagara Falls Music Hall of Fame.
Lynn is an in-demand Saxophonist, Educator, Composer, Band Leader, and Recording Artist in NYC.
She performs and has performed with a wide array of musical projects that include: Aaron Frazer, Antibalas, Bright Eyes, Conor Oberst, Durand Jones & The Indications, EMEFÉ, H. Jon Benjamin (Jazz Daredevil), Hurray For The Riff Raff, Mádé Kuti, Mike Gordon (Phish), Red Baraat, The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Broadway Revival), The String Cheese Incident, Sunny Jain’s Wild Wild East, Tyger Tyger, and more.
She has played on stages worldwide at venues and festivals such as: Carnegie Hall, NPR, KEXP, WNYC, the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the Late Show with David Letterman, the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Today Show, CBS This Morning, the GQ Creative Awards, America’s Got Talent, Governor's Ball, the Bluenote, the Ryman, the Newport Jazz Festival, the Newport Folk Festival, Lincoln Center, the Cully Jazz Festival, the Rochester International Jazz Festival, SFJazz, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Central Park Summerstage, Kings Theater, the Greek Theater, and more.
She has also been featured in the horn section on numerous albums, recordings, and TV shows for networks such as Fox and NBC.
In addition to performing, Lynn is a saxophone instructor for Mannes Prep at the New School, and is a Teaching Artist for Lincoln Center Education, where she has led various music and educator workshops for the past 18+ years.
She has facilitated individual and group classes for students of all ages, as well as teachers, administrators, community leaders, and more.
She is also the recipient of the Emerging Leader and Outstanding Alumni award from the Niagara Falls Education Foundation, as well as a 2023 inductee to the Niagara Falls Music Hall of Fame.
