From the age of 6, Denis Girault has been passionate about the clarinet. After a classical education at the Conservatory of La Teste de Buch (France), he discovers during his adolescence, all the aesthetics that his instrument allows him to approach.
It is by frequenting the local jazzmen that he literally fell in love with the jazz of New Orleans.
After several trips to Louisiana and a few tours in France and Europe, he decided to devote himself entirely to music (2017).
Tireless explorer of new repertoires, leader of many innovative projects but also sideman, Denis Girault has become in a few years, a musician essential to the national traditional jazz scene.
Among his projects, Claribol Stompers (Gypsy Swing quintet) and DGNOP/Denis Girault Old Jazz Quartet (New Orleans Jazz and music)
His powerful and lyrical playing is cut out for the stage and the concert.
Respectful of the tradition but turned towards the future, Denis Girault proposes a vision of the clarinet seductive and authentic.
