A beautiful tenor saxophone, manufactured in 1946 at the SELMER factory in Mantes la Ville near Paris. Approximately 80% of the silver plating is still intact. It was completely overhauled not too long ago, so the technical condition of this instrument is correspondingly good.

Every SELMER saxophone is different, as I have already mentioned in various places on this website. People tend to pigeonhole the individual series. That is not appropriate, and here is a classic example of this theory. This fine specimen is an elegant player, not snotty, not growly, with a dark basic sound. A really beautiful ballad or smooth jazz tenor saxophone. But that is just my personal impression of this Balanced Action.
