Henri SELMER Paris won a "Victoire du Jazz"
The Victoires du jazz 2018 paid tribute to the Henri SELMER Paris house, which has been accompanying the great names of jazz for over a century. Yesterday, John Coltrane, Stan Getz, Coleman Hawkins and Benny Goodman made the brand an icon of jazz. Today, the company endorses artists such as Kenny Garrett, Marcus Miller, Louis Sclavis, Manu Dibango or Sophie Alour, who was named Artist of the Year at the Victoires de la musique.
The artistic committee awarded the company with its Special Prize, recognizing for the first time the leading role of an instrument manufacturer in its contribution to Jazz. A landmark moment, crowned by the projection of a video gathering the testimonies and thanks of many musicians (Benny Golson, Steve Coleman, Kenny Garrett, Pierrick Pédron, Guillaume Perret…).
Jérôme Selmer dedicated this award to all the Selmers who preceded him, but especially to all those who today design, make, promote and play the Henri SELMER Paris instruments.
The video above allows you to relive this convivial and emotionally rich evening, with a music by Raphaël Imbert (Prize for the best "Unclassifiable" album).
