YOM
The inspired virtuoso clarinettist Yom has constantly devoted himself to the exploration of different musical aesthetics. This insatiably versatile artist, a man constantly in search of the absolute, tries his hand at everything from his own Klezmer traditional interpretations to electronic music, via rock, Americana, contemporary and classical music, and even completely unclassifiable forms, without ever losing sight of his vision of music: an approach to the human soul, a need for universality and spirituality, that have led him in the past few years to develop his language by taking inspiration from sacred music.
This basic idea, lending coherence to his work, already applied to his duo with Wang Li and to Le Silence de l’Exode, and to both 2017 creations, Prière and Illuminations. In 2018, this cycle continues with the creation of Ligua Ignota celebrating the mystical saint Hildegarde von Bingen. Moreover, the re-creation of Yom & the Wonder Rabbis is an opportunity to celebrate ten years of performances as a leader, and to continue actively weaving the tied that unite music and spirituality.
