Sylvie Hue
Eminent musicians recognise Sylvie Hue as an artist with proven technique and exceptional tone, bringing great sensitivity to her playing.
Sylvie Hue pursued a dual course of study in music and literature at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique and the University of Paris XII. A student of Guy Deplus and Christian Lardé, she was unanimously awarded First Prize in clarinet in 1987, followed by First Prize in chamber music in 1988. That same year, she also obtained a degree in Modern Literature.
First Prize winner at the Tokyo International Competition and laureate at the Prague International Competition, she has held the position of principal clarinet with the Republican Guard Orchestra for over thirty years. She also performs in recitals and with orchestras in France and abroad. She regularly participates in international clarinet congresses and has premiered numerous concertos and chamber music works (Concerto by Pierre Ancelin, Concerto des Reflets sans oubli by Francine Aubin, French premiere of Concerto by Armando Guidoni, Romanza a la muerte de un ave by Graciane Finzi, Asuka and Sonatina in allegria by Roger Boutry, Sonate pour un ami by Jean-Paul Holstein…).
Keen to pursue a career in teaching, she holds a Certificate of Aptitude and teaches at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental de Paris-Saclay (91), as well as regularly giving masterclasses, particularly in Asia.
She is also the director of a collection at Editions Combre (Paris), author of educational and musicological works, and co-president of the French Clarinet Association.
