Fanny Chellé
Fanny Chellé is a French clarinetist whose artistic work spans classical music, contemporary music, and free improvisation. She is currently based in Zurich, Switzerland.
Alongside her teaching activity, she maintains an active performance career in various chamber music ensembles and collective projects. In 2017, she co-founded the Mondkabarett Ensemble in Rennes with five musicians, a project focusing in particular on the music of Arnold Schoenberg (Pierrot Lunaire) and Kurt Weill.
Originally trained in classical music, Fanny Chellé is deeply interested in exploring other artistic aesthetics. Her work extends to musical theatre, contemporary creation, and free improvisation, a field she has been especially engaged in since settling in Zurich in 2018.
In 2022, she created Système D, a solo project for amplified clarinet and effects pedals, combining traditional musics and improvisation.
She began studying the clarinet at the Conservatoire of Clermont-Ferrand with Béatrice Berne, then continued her training in Rennes at the Pont Supérieur d’Enseignement Artistique with Étienne Lamaison. She later refined her studies at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK), where she studied with Matthias Müller and Fabio Di Casola.
