Seung Dong Lee

Born in 1980 in Seoul, South Korea, saxophonist Seung-Dong Lee is passionate about saxophone since the beginning of his studies. After graduating from Yonsei University in Seoul, he decided to come to France where he continued his studies with Philippe Portejoie, Daniel Gremelle and Pierric Leman. He obtained his Higher Diplomas at CRR Rueil-Malmaison and CRD Evry and Diploma of Improvement at the CRD Issy les Moulineaux.

Winner of national and international competitions including those of Seoul University, Europeen of Music in Picardie, Leopold Bellan, Nantes and Epinal. He has performed numerous recitals and concerts in Seoul, In-Chon, Daegu and Jeon-Ju with Japanese pianist Misaki BaBa. And he brilliantly gave a duet concert with Philippe Geiss and Jerome Laran and Yo Matsushita. As soloist with many orchestras such as the Seoul Symphony Orchestra, Si-Heung, Geum-Cheon, the Yonsei Wind Orchestra, he began his international career (master classes and concerts) in France, Italy, Taiwan, China, Thailand and the United States. He is Chief of Nova Saxophone Ensemble.

Seung-Dong is a professor at Yonsei University, Sookmyung Women’s University, Seokyung University, Chongshin University and Sun-Hea Art School, Dukwon Art School.

Seung-Dong is a Henri Selmer artist.
