Ronald Alphonse studied harmony and classical composition with the master Demis Visvikis, and in parallel, he practices jazz and improvisation at the IACP in a very free approach, with Alan Silva, Itaru Oki, François Cotinaud, Denis Colin....

He has performed in many international festivals: Mindelo (Cape Verde), Nice Jazz Festival, Marciac, Vic-Fesensac, Andore Jazz Festival, Lorient, Milan, Florence, Vienne, Evian, Caen, Armada du Jazz, Nuits d'outre-mers, Fiestas des suds, Nîmes, Vannes,Thonon les bains...

He plays the baritone saxophone in the big orchestra Mambomania (Chapelle des Lombards, Bataclan, Hot brass, Elysée Montmartre, New Morning, La Coupole, Le petit journal), Festivals in France and abroad (opening for James Brown in Estoril in 2000), radios, numerous televisions.

He perfected his skills in jazz arrangement and composition with Maria Schneider and Laurent Cugny.

As a studio musician, he writes and makes sessions for film music, TV films and advertising.

He also has a very consequent pedagogical experience for many years: Musical Director Jazz Fnacem, Jazz Workshop of Mareuil, group coaching and coaching... He is specialized in jazz arrangements, especially for the saxophone.

After his last important project Moods of Thelonious, dedicated to the famous composer and pianist Thelonious Monk, Ronald Alphonse Melodic Lines latest opus offers an intimate atmosphere in duo with Jean-Luc Roumier on guitar.
