Frédéric Basquin

Soloist and pedagogue, coming from the great French saxophone school, Frédéric Basquin obtained his prizes at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lille and continued his studies at the Conservatoire de Cergy Pontoise in the class of Jean-Yves Fourmeau, international concert performer.

He also won numerous prizes as a soloist in international and national competitions. Holder of the State Diploma, he is currently professor of saxophone at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lille and at the CRC de Linselles. He also works in partnership as a tutor and referring teacher with the École Nationale Supérieure de Musique et de Danse du Nord de la France.

Member of the trio SAXO CLONE (two saxophones & one piano), Frédéric Basquin performs in France and abroad (USA, Romania, Poland, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Tunisia, Morocco, England...). He is often solicited as a soloist in many symphony and wind orchestras (Orchestre National de Lille, Coups de vent, Wind Orchestra...).

Versatile, Frédéric studied jazz and recorded many albums and accompanied various artists on stage: Benjamin Biolay, Vanessa Paradis, Bigflo et Oli, Anne Ducros, Dany Brillant, Marion Cotillard. Saxophonist of the legendary Motown bands, The Temptations and The Four Tops, during their French tour.

Frédéric Basquin plays the Henri SELMER Paris Series III Soprano and Alto saxophones.
