Jean-Marie Londeix

Jean-Marie Londeix

A student of Marcel Mule and Jean Rivier, Jean-Marie Londeix has made a name for himself as a concert performer, teacher (Conservatories of Dijon and Bordeaux), facilitator and author of major pedagogical works. He has performed very regularly as a soloist all over the world, often opening concerts or saxophone recitals. He has made numerous recordings. About a hundred of the most representative works for the instrument are dedicated to him.

He founded a prestigious saxophone quartet, the Ensemble de saxophones Français, with Roland Audefroy, Guy Lacour and Jacques Melzer.

Many students from all over the world have come to work with him at the Bordeaux Conservatory, where he also founded the International Saxophone Ensemble, made up of twelve saxophones, which has set the example for many other experiences. As a result, he has participated in the establishment and development of the classical saxophone in many countries. Many of his students now hold leading positions. He is regularly invited to teach in Conservatories all over the world, or to intervene in French or foreign pedagogical centres.

Honorary President of the Association des Saxophonistes de France, he is, without a doubt, one of the most fervent ambassadors of the saxophone world.
