Cristina Delgado Jiménez was born in Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain) and made her musical career at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Tenerife, where she obtained a higher degree in the specialty of Saxophone, always with the highest qualifications. During this time, the teacher D. Pedro Iturralde, attracted by the great musical talent that she showed at such an early age, invites her to attend her classes at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Madrid to complete her musical training.
Later, in 1992, she moved to Paris, where he completed the Higher Cycle and Improvement in the specialty of Saxophone, obtaining at the same time the First Prize of the Conservatory in said specialty and in Chamber Music unanimously by the jury. There she receives classes from teachers Daniel Deffayet, Jean Yves Formeau and Fabrice Moretti.
During those years of training, she attends numerous international courses where she has the opportunity to meet and work with prestigious world-class saxophonists such as Jean Marie Londeix, Arno Bornkamp, Eugene Rousseau, Nobuya Sugawa and Claude Delangle.
Among its merits, the numerous awards received in competitions of international prestige held in Europe, America and Asia. Her concert career has taken her to stages all over the world, being invited by prestigious European orchestras to act as a soloist. Among the projects she has developed, she highlights the founding of her own quartet in Paris, with which she performed numerous concerts in the international arena, also receiving various chamber music awards.
In 2009 she obtained the Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude at the Alfonso X El Sabio University (Madrid) and in 2010 the Master's Degree in Musical Interpretation and Creation at the Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid). She is currently a saxophone teacher at the Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands.
