Žilvinas Brazauskas
Clarinetist Žilvinas Brazauskas is an active soloist and chamber musician known for his charismatic performances, which span from classical repertoire to jazz improvisations. A Lithuanian native, he has showcased his talents as a soloist with orchestras such as the Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin, Brussels Philharmonic, Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, and Munich Chamber Orchestra.
As a chamber musician he has played in halls such as the Berlin Philharmonic and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and has been invited to the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker and Usedom Music Festival, among others. He has performed with artists such as Elena Bashkirova, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, the Signum String Quartet, Julian Rachlin, Sabine Meyer, Igudesman & Joo, and Xenia Jankovic.
Winner of the first prize at the F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Competition, he was also prizewinner at the 4th International Clarinet Competition Ghent, a finalist at the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb and a semi-finalist at the ARD Music Competition.
Special awards include the DAAD Prize, the prizes from Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, Startup!Music and the Usedom Music Festival. Žilvinas has received support from foundations such as the Oskar and Vera Ritter Foundation, Deutschlandstipendium and M. Rostropovich Charity and Support Foundation.
His discography includes two recordings with pianist Violetta Khachikyan and three with Trio Agora: the latest of which is Hotel Tango, supported by the Neustart Kultur ensemble program and released by Accentus Music.
Additionally, he performs in the duo Jazzical Class, where he explores an extensive range from entertainment to contemporary music, as well as his own compositions and arrangements.
