Quatuor Élan

The members of Quatuor Élan: Nozomi Sakai (saxophone soprano), Miki Isogai (saxophone alto), Taewook Ahn (saxophone ténor), Mariko Takeshita (saxophone baryton), initially met in Paris, France, whilst undergoing their studies at a number of conservatoires across Europe, such as Versailles, Lyon, Brussels, Amsterdam and Vienna. They are now based in Japan, and perform on concert tours all over Japan and participate in various projects at educational sites.

At first, they started as Impetus saxophone quartet, but in 2020 decided to change their name to Quatuor Élan.

Actively working with a variety of composers, as a quartet, they are always keen to discover new musical territories.

Their first CD entitled Prélude was released at N.A.T and is available in stores and on all major download platforms. (as "Impetus saxophone quartet”).
