Born in 1979, Marie-B Barrière-Bilote studied at the CNR in Bordeaux, then at the CNSM in Paris, where she studied clarinet and chamber music. She obtained two first prizes, a special jury prize and the diploma of higher education.
She then played in various national orchestras. In 2000, she received a scholarship from the "Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe"; the same year, she joined the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra as principal clarinet. In 2003, she was appointed professor at the Prince Rainier III Academy of Music of Monaco.
Marie-B. Barrière is also a member of the wind quintet Les Vents du Sud which won the first prize at the Marseille International Competition as well as the Spedidam Prize in February 2005. She also performs as a soloist (notably with the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra) and in recital with her sister, Valérie (pianist).
