Carlos Ordoñez de Arce

Born in Leganés (Madrid, 1996). Carlos Ordóñez de Arce began his musical studies under the guidance of his father, Juan Carlos Ordóñez, and the pedagogue Ángel Luis de la Rosa, with whom he completed a professional degree of saxophone at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música Amaniel. After that, he will complete his higher music studies under the tutelage of Marie-Bernadette Charrier and Hilomi Sakaguchi. At the same time, he will finish his higher studies of pedagogy at the PESDM in Bordeaux Aquitaine (France).

He has followed numerous master classes from internationally renowned performers and pedagogues.

He has been awarded in more than ten national and international saxophone and chamber music competitions among which it is worth mentioning the First Prize of the Jean-Marie Londeix 5th International Saxophone Competition, held in Bangkok (Thailand) in July 2017, being the youngest winner in the history of one of the most internationally recognized saxophone competitions.

He is a member of Akashi Duo and Thesis Quartet and as a musician, he has performed concerts and recitals in Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, Morocco, China and Thailand. He has performed as soloist in the main national and international auditoriums such as the Auditorio Nacional de Música and the Teatro Real in Spain, Auditorium de l'Opéra National de Bordeaux in France, Palacio Nacional de la Música Mexicana in Mexico or Prince Mahidoll Hall in Thailand.

He has been part of numerous saxophone and contemporary music festivals such as the 2nd International Saxophone Festival in Puebla (Mexico), Ensems (Spain), World Saxophone Congress in Zagreb (Croatia), EnSerra in Belo Horizonte (Brazil) and the Clari-Sax Yucatán being invited as concert performer, guest professor and president of the jury of the Selmer Paris 2019 Pan-American Saxophone Competition in Merida (Mexico). Concert performer in Montesaxnovo Festival and MarcheFestival in Ostra Vetere (Italy).

He has been invited to give numerous master classes, including the following: Facultad de Música de Mexico D.F 2018, Clari-Sax Yucatán in Merida (Mexico) 2019, EnSerra in Belo Horizonte (Brazil), Encontro Galego do Saxofon in Santiago de Compostela and the master class organized by Thesis Quartet in Valga (Pontevedra, Spain) 2019. Master class for the saxophone class of the University of Zacatecas UAZ (Mexico) 2020. Guest teacher and concert performer at the Accademia Italiana del Sassofono organized by Maestro Federico Mondelci (Ostra Vetere, Italy) 2022 and 2023.
