Jérôme Verhaeghe

Born in the north of France, Jérôme Verhaeghe, after his debut at the Douai Conservatory, entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he obtained first prizes in clarinet and chamber music in the classes of Michel Arrignon and Christian Ivaldi. During his years of study, he is first prize winner of the Lion's Club International in Cannes, where he plays the Mozart concerto with the "Cannes Provence Côte d'Azur" Orchestra under the direction of Philippe Binder. The following year, he obtains his Certificate of Aptitude as a clarinet teacher and is laureate of the International Chamber Competition of Martigny.

In 1991, he was appointed principal clarinet at the Philharmonic Orchestra of Strasbourg and professor at the conservatory of this city. In 1997 he joined the Orchestre de l'Opéra National de Paris and teaches at the Conservatoire Municipal du XIIIe arrondissement.

He gives many concerts both in France and abroad. He has performed with Edita Gruberova at the Ludwigsburg Festival, in Luxembourg as a soloist with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg under the direction of Théodore Guschelbauer, in the United States at the Round Top Festival...
