ISSA 2020 online, new saxophone academy
Faced with the global health crisis and the cancellation of many summer academies, professional musicians from around the world have joined forces to offer an online Saxophone Academy in July and August 2020.
In order to perpetuate sharing, learning and practicing music in these troubled times, Philippe Geiss (Professor at the Strasbourg Conservatory and the Strasbourg Higher Academy of Music) and Nicolas Prost (Certified Professor at the Saint-Maur Conservatory) have decided to set up the International Saxophone Summer Academy Online.
Wishing to offer the most enriching and individualized experience possible, they have called upon some of the world's greatest saxophonists and teachers, evolving in different aesthetics and universes: classical music, contemporary music, jazz…
Three sessions are proposed :
- From 10 to 19 July 2020 with Vincent David, Nikita Zimin, Nicolas Prost and Asya Fateyeva
- From 20 to 29 July 2020 with Nobuya Sugawa, Kenneth Tse, Pawel Gusnar, Mariano Garcia
- From 30 July to 8 August 2020 with Timothy McAllister, Arno Bornkamp, Philippe Geiss and Amit Dubester
Each student will benefit from a private lesson with their teachers. In addition to these private courses, there will be three online master classes/conferences with special guests : John Helliwell, Branford Marsalis and Derek Brown.
This academy is a great opportunity to progress, to share and exchange with exceptional teachers, but also to celebrate practicing music together.
