The Henri SELMER Paris workshops, symbol of French Excellence

Les ateliers Henri SELMER Paris, symbole de l’Excellence Française
Jérôme SELMER, President and great-grandson of the founder, received in December 2019 the French Excellence Prize awarded to Henri SELMER Paris house.

The Excellence Française presented its new award winners on December 5, 2019, during a ceremony at the Hôtel National des Invalides. Henri SELMER Paris thus joins the Musée du Louvre (2019), Lenôtre (2011), the Philharmonie de Paris (2015), the Garde Républicaine (2015) and astronaut Thomas Pesquet (2017), who had played his Axos alto saxophone among the stars.

Created in 2009 and presided over by Maurice Tasler, the Excellence Française awards each year, in different activity sectors, companies and institutions represented by men and women who, through their talent, creativity and capacity for innovation, contribute to France's influence in the world.

Labelled "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" (Living Heritage Company) and recently integrated into the Comité Colbert, Henri SELMER Paris is honoured to see the recognition of values of excellence and preservation of a know-how that it strives to defend on a daily basis. Located in Mantes-la-Ville for more than a century, the Henri SELMER Paris workshops remain the only ones in the world to manufacture, in addition to mouthpieces, the whole family of saxophones (from sopranino to bass saxophone) and clarinets (from small Eb to contrabass).
