Amalia del Giudice

Amalia del Giudice is an Argentine clarinetist, Associate Principal of the Stable Orchestra of the Provincial Arts Center, Teatro Argentino in Buenos Aires. She is a founding member of the ensembles Torre7 Ensamble, Akor Trío, and the Proyecto Herrmann quintet, and has also founded and directed the Buenos Aires Clarinet Quintet and the Buenos Aires Clarinet Ensemble.

She began studying the clarinet at an early age with Eduardo Ihidoype, Mariano Frogioni, Luis Rossi, and Guy Deplus in Paris. She holds the National Superior Music Teaching degree from the Carlos López Buchardo Conservatory in Buenos Aires and was awarded First Prize unanimously at the École Normale de Musique de Paris in 1994. She further refined her skills in chamber music and clarinet with renowned artists and ensembles including Stanley Drucker, David Weber, the Amadeus Quartet, and Milan Turkovic, and received a gold medal from the Conservatoire de Montreuil.

Principal clarinet of the Banda Sinfónica de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires from 1992 to 2016, Amalia del Giudice has also performed as a soloist with orchestras across Argentina and internationally, including the Sinfónica de Corrientes, Filarmónica de Río Negro, Orquesta de Cámara of the Catholic University of Valparaíso in Chile, and the Banda Metropolitana de Quito in Ecuador, where she premiered Fernando Lerman’s Cinco Esquinas Porteñas. She participates in numerous contemporary music ensembles, including Ensembles XXI, Ensamble del CEAMC, Compañía Oblicua, and Ensamble Bracelet, performing in major venues throughout Argentina as well as in France, Italy, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and the United States.

Her recordings include projects with the Quinteto de Vientos ARGOS, Trío Sinenomine, Torre7 Ensamble, and works by contemporary Argentine composers such as Fernando Lerman and Gabriel Senanes.

A committed educator, she has led programs within Buenos Aires’ Youth and Children’s Orchestras and the National Youth Orchestra of the Bicentennial, giving masterclasses and concerts at international festivals in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, France, and Italy. She directs the "Proyecto VIVO. Ensamble de Clarinetes", fostering the next generation of musicians and promoting the clarinet repertoire worldwide.
