[Know-how] Quality manager in the SELMER Paris workshops

[Savoir-faire] Responsable qualité dans les ateliers SELMER
A saxophonist since childhood, Fabien Lestrade has been working at Henri SELMER Paris since 1983. First, instrument repairer, then finisher, controller, and trainer for many years, he was appointed Manager of the Saxophone After-Sales service, then Quality manager for all products in 2008.

After an apprenticeship and two years as a worker in a wind instrument repair shop in Châteaudun, Fabien Lestrade began his long adventure at Henri SELMER Paris...

Having worked in the repair, soldering, bending and finishing departments, he has trained many people in our workshops.

"During all these years, training has been a very important point. I have been able to pass on my knowledge on to the people who finish the instruments, to make them appreciate the assembly of the instrument. That's one of my great satisfactions: to have led people to finish good quality instruments worthy of SELMER."

For several years, he also participated in the development of saxophone prototypes in collaboration with musicians such as Claude Delangle, Patrick Bourgoin, Davy Basquin,…

Fabien Lestrade is now Product manager in the quality department. Together with his team, he is responsible for the continuous improvement of SELMER saxophones, clarinets and mouthpieces. By training the teams in France and abroad, he had a decisive role in the birth of AXOS, the entry-level professional saxophones of Henri SELMER Paris.
