SELMER Summer Clarinet Academy 2021
Open to clarinetists from all over the world, the SELMER Summer Clarinet Academy 2020 was a huge success. Through interactive masterclasses and private lessons, participants were able to find a convivial space for exchange and sharing, giving them real motivation in a particularly difficult context of lockdown.
The 2021 edition will therefore take place again online, from May 26 to 30. This year again, the teachers have been selected for their artistic skills, of course, but also and above all for their human qualities, their sense of listening and pedagogy. We thus guarantee students a wealth of exchanges and advice that allows them to progress in a friendly and stimulating atmosphere.
The pedagogical team is composed of Todd Levy (Principal Clarinet with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra & Santa Fe Opera Orchestra), Tasha Warren (Michigan State University, American Modern Ensemble), Stephen Williamson (Chicago Symphony Orchestra), Guy Yehuda (Michigan State University, Principal Clarinet with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra), Aude Richard-Camus (Clarinet Professor at Rouen Conservatory, France), Robert Spring (Arizona State University) et Sylvie Hue (Clarinet Soloist with the French Garde Républicaine Orchestra).
In addition to the courses and masterclasses, participants will be able to take advantage of exceptional interventions:
- Two live virtual tours: one of the Henri SELMER Paris factory, and one of the Henri SELMER Paris repair shop.
- Testimonials from former "academics" turned professionals.
And of course, they will have the opportunity to take part in the Academy's competition, with three awards at the end:
- 1st prize: The brand new SELMER Bb clarinet Presence
- 2nd prize: $1,000
- 3rd prize: A SELMER Concept clarinet mouthpiece
