THE WHOOP GROUP is a dangerous musical weapon…” Jan A.P. Kaczmarek - Oscar prize winning composer

“A no-rules saxophone quartet!” Christopher Summer Festival

The Whoop Group is a highly energetic and ambitious ensemble consisting of some of the most talented Polish saxophone players, united not only by their love for the instrument, but also by their deep friendship. Each and every single one of them has previously won many prestigious solo and chamber music competitions. They are also recipients of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship and the Young Poland Scholarship. In 2018 The Whoop Group released their debut album Crimes for which they have been nominated to a prestigous competition Corypheus of Polish Music in the category Discovery of the year.

They began playing together in September 2016 as part of a Polish Radio Five o’Clock broadcast and they have been routinely performing ever since, enjoying public recognition and a growing fanbase worldwide. They won every chamber music competition they took part in, such as Wind Instruments Chamber Music Competition in Warsaw, the FNAPEC Musiques d’Ensembles Competition in Paris or the International Chamber Music Competition in Bydgoszcz.

The Whoop Group is an actively performing saxophone quartet. Their stage energy and unusual way of chamber playing change every concert into a "brisk musical show". It is, in many ways, truly an extraordinary group. The four of them are equally crazy and ambitious, afraid of no challenges and constantly trying new things during live performances. They specialize in performing classical and contemporary music, oftentimes arranged and composed by themselves, but they’re also no strangers to other genres, i.e. jazz, movie music or even hip-hop.

The Whoop Group cooperated during different projects with many great artists and groups such as: Jan A. P. Kaczmarek, L.U.C. & Rebel Babel Film Orchestra, Maciej Obara, Paweł Gusnar, Krzysztof Herdzin, Dorota Miśkiewicz, Małgorzata Kożuchowska, Joanna Kulig or their latest project collaboration featuring Andrzej Kowalski Quartet.
