Hannah Shilvock
Originally from Somerset, Hannah Shilvock is an award-winning Brighton-based clarinet and bass clarinet specialist, widely recognised for championing and redefining the expressive and virtuosic potential of the bass clarinet. A Selmer, BG France, RATstands, and DEBUT Classical Horizon Artist, Hannah is known for her pioneering approach to repertoire, including her acclaimed arrangements of Debussy’s Cello Sonata for bass clarinet and piano, published by Alea Publishing, and Erik Satie’s Gymnopédie No. 1
Hannah has both an undergraduate and masters degree specialising in bass clarinet, having studied with Anthony Pike and Paolo De Gaspari. Her career spans solo, chamber, and orchestral performance. As a freelancer, she has performed with leading ensembles and orchestras including the Brighton Philharmonic, Covent Garden Sinfonia, and the Royal Opera House, among others.
Equally at home across genres and settings, Hannah is a versatile woodwind doubler, performing on Bb, Eb, and bass clarinet, as well as flute and saxophones, making her a sought-after collaborator in both classical and contemporary contexts.
Alongside her musical career, Hannah is also a 300 hour qualified yoga teacher, sharing her passion for movement and wellbeing through classes both online and in Brighton.
