SELMER Music Festival in Montmartre

Fête de la Musique SELMER à Montmartre
Did you know that it was at number 4 Place Charles Dullin, formerly Place Dancourt (Paris 18th), near Montmartre that Henri SELMER opened his very first workshop? It is precisely there that we will meet you on the Music Festival to celebrate our heritage and share our common passion…

The Henri SELMER Paris team will meet you on June 21 from 4 p.m. for open-air concerts:

  • 4 p.m.: Wind orchestra of the Paris Conservatory with Davy Basquin
Professor at the Pôle Supérieur de Paris-Boulogne Billancourt and at the City of Paris (CRR and Conservatoire Maurice Ravel), but also artistic advisor for Maison SELMER, Davy Basquin directs the Conservatory's wind orchestra.
  • 4:30 p.m.: SELMER Orchestra
Whether they have been playing for forty years or six months, whether they work in the Research & Development department or in the accounting department, the members of the SELMER team also offer you their little concert!
  • 4:50 p.m.: Taser Basse

This bass clarinet collective explores contemporary techniques of the instrument while drawing inspiration from a wide range of styles, including rock, electronic music, and world music. The result is a sound that is both celebratory and experimental, firmly rooted in the contemporary currents of French jazz. The ensemble currently features Lucie Vigier (Ipazia), Nils Kassap (Kafé Gata, Nils Kassap & Friends), Anna Bouchet (Gigigi, Octupussy), Timothé Renard (Chocho Cannelle, Gravity), and Gaelle Bagot (Saksion Maloya, Gaelle et Juan).

  • 5:45 p.m.: Swamp City Six
Drawing on backgrounds in jazz, world music, and symphony orchestras across Europe—from Paris to Athens via Berlin—the musicians of Kosmopolitevitch convey the vitality and richness of the Balkans’ cultural landscapes. The diversity of their musical journeys and influences has shaped a distinctive musical experience of their own, where the sounds of the clarinet, trumpet, oud, and traditional percussion transport audiences from the mountains of Serbia to the Romanian countryside, through the repertoire of the Greek islands and the shores of Asia Minor. Over the years, they have built a shared musical home, filled with a rich heritage of songs and melodies from diverse traditions. They invite audiences to step inside and explore it with them—through song, movement, and dance.
