Oskars Petrauskis

Oskars Petrauskis, a Latvian-born musician and saxophonist, is an outstanding musician endowed with a unique musical instinct.
As a soloist, he has performed with all of the leading orchestras in Latvia, including the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, the Sinfonietta Riga, the Orchestra Riga, the Latvian Radio Choir, the Latvian Radio Big Band, the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra.
His international collaborations include world-renowned artists such as The King's Singers, Baptiste Herbin, Vincent David, Quatuor Morphing, Raimonds Petrauskis, Rihards Zaļupe, Marina Rebeka, Iveta Apkalna, Nato Metonidze, Philippe Geiss, Douglas Bostock and Andris Poga.
He has also collaborated with several composers, including Giya Kancheli, Tosio Mashima, Ēriks Ešenvalds, Pēteris Vasks, Vilnis Šmīdbergs, Alvils Altmanis and Jēkabs Jančevskis.
Oskars has premiered a number of works for saxophone and orchestra by Latvian composers. He can play freely in almost any style, whether classical, jazz, contemporary art or free improvisation.
Oskars Petrauskis is the founder and producer of the Riga Sax Weekend saxophone music festival.
He has been an Ambassador of Henri Selmer Paris since 2007.
