Ismael Sánchez
Ismael Sánchez Santiago received his Bachelor's degree in clarinet from Mexico City's Higher School of Music and in saxophone from that city's ‘Vida y Movimiento’ school. He holds a postgraduate diploma from the Royal Academy of Music in London, England.
He has won several important awards and distinctions within Mexico, the most outstanding of which have been the National Youth Prize in the Arts division, and the National Fine Arts Institute’s Soloist Competition.
He has performed with various ensembles in the United States, Japan, Spain, Portugal, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Venezuela and England.
In the field of education, he is actively involved in the National Programme of Children's and Youth Harmony Orchestras, as well as the Youth Choir and Orchestra Projects of the National System of Musical Promotion of Mexico.
His versatility in the musical field has allowed him to record and participate in projects involving jazz, pop, classical music, folk music, contemporary music, and musical comedies.
He is currently a clarinet and chamber music teacher at the Escuela Superior de Música in Mexico city, where he also conducts the Harmony.
