Erick Alejandro López Casas

Erick López is a Mexican saxophonist, student of the master degree in music performance at the Katarina Gurska Music Center in Madrid, Spain, under the tutelage of Professor Andrés Gomis, disciple of the great Jean-Marie Londeix.

He has performed at major festivals and auditoriums, such as the National Auditorium of México, Palace of Cibeles in Madrid Spain, and National Auditoriums of Honduras and Costa Rica. He had received several awards, among which the Third place in the VI National Contest of Classic Saxophone of the Conservatory of Roses in Morelia Michoacán 2011 ; Third place in the Classical Saxophone Competition in San José Costa Rica within the fifth International SAXFEST Costa Rica 2013 ; First place in the Honduras SaxFest, in Tegucigalpa Honduras 2013 ; Third place in the Panamerican Competition of Classical Saxophone in México City 2013 ; Second Place in the Panamerican Competition of Classical Saxophone at the National Music School 2014 and recently Second Place in Panamerican Competition of Classical Saxophone of the ENM 2017.

As well as he has taught master classes in different states of México, such as Puebla, Tamaulipas, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Chihuahua, Yucatán, among others.

In 2019 he has been a guest artist of different festivals such as the Encuentro Universitario in Mexico City, Costa Rica Saxfest 2019 and the first festival Clari-Sax Yucatan 2019.

He has been a jury in the Pan-American contest of the National School of Music and the Selmer Paris contest in Merida Yucatan Mexico in 2019

He is currently a full-time professor at the Autonomous University of Zacatecas and director of the second festival of Saxophone Zacatecas 2019.
