Baptiste Herbin presents 'Vista Chinesa'
Nominated at the Victoires du jazz in 2013 following his first album Brother Stoon, Baptiste Herbin has built an international reputation and in 2019 won the prestigious Django Reinhardt prize awarded by the Académie du Jazz.

In May 2020, the saxophonist released his fourth album Vista Chinesa (Space Time Records/Socadisc), inspired by several long trips to Brazil in previous years. The music on this album, imbued with samba, frevo, bossa and soul, reflects the artist's love for Brazil, but also testifies to rich musical and human encounters.
At the head of a quartet (with pianist Eduardo Farias, double bassist Jefferson Lescowich and drummer Xande Figueiredo), the saxophonist also invites Brazilian musicians: groove master Ed Motta, singer Thaís Motta, tenor saxophonist Ademir Junior, alto saxophonist Idriss Boudrioua, trumpeter/buglist Aquiles Moraes, drummer Emile Saubole and trombonist Rafael Rocha.
Eight of the eleven tracks on the album are original compositions by Baptiste Herbin. For the first time, the artist gives pride of place to songs (with lyrics by Mauro Aguiar). The repertoire also includes Não me deixe by Idriss Boudrioua, Scène on Seine by Xavier Felgeyrolles and the famous Swing Valse by Gus Viseur.
For the release of the album and as part of the Jazz sur Seine Festival, Baptiste Herbin will play at the Sunset Sunside on October 9 and 10.
