Wolfgang Puntas was born in Guillena (Seville) and began his studies in San Fernando (Cádiz) with Francisco Lora. Continuing in Guillena by the hand of Manuel Vizcaíno, Antonio Calero and Francisco Pizarro. Doing the Higher Degree with Antonio Salguero and Antonio García Herrera.

He has been a member of the III Master's Degree in Musical Interpretation specializing in Clarinet, Youth Orchestra of Andalusia and Academy of Orchestral Studies Barenboim-Said, receiving master classes from: Antonio Salguero, Yehuda Gilad, Charles Neidich, Ralph Manno, Matthias Glander, Andreas Sundén,, Piort Smilisisky, Miguel Civera, Dimitri Ashkenazy, Ramón Barona, Joan Enric Yuna, José Luis Estellés, Joaquín Haro, Javier Balaguer, among others.

In 2015 the III University Master's Degree in Musical Interpretation ends in the specialty of clarinet by the International University of Andalusia and the prestigious Artmusic school.

Silver Medal in the International Musical Competition Vienna, First Prize for Musical Interpretation in the III Castilla La Mancha International Philharmonic Orchestra Competition and Audience Award in the same competition organized by Ofman. Finalist in the International Clarinet Contest Oscar Navarro. Assistant professor of clarinet at the ROSS and Municipal Symphonic Band of Seville, titular clarinet of the Seville Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Baetic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Sevillana de Zarzuela company, Ensamble Nueva Música of Seville and collaborates with different chamber formations and symphonies and in different recording studios in the city.

He has made several premieres of compositions for Clarinet and Symphonic Band such as: The Cape Cod Concerto (Paquito D'Rivera), Solo de Concurso (Messager), Concerto in A major for clarinet and orchestra K622 by W.A. Mozart on November 12, 2016 also releasing the clarinet and string orchestra version of El Molinero de Subiza.

Absolute release of Pagina d'Album in its clarinet and symphonic band version (M. Mangani), Clarinettomanía (clarinet and symphonic band version), Perpetual Movement (clarinet and symphonic band version, clarinet and quartet).

He has premiered several concerts for clarinet and band in Andalusia, among which is Oscar Navarro's II Clarinet Concerto, Fantasy on the theme of Rigoletto, Fantasy on the opera La Traviata, Artie Shaw,…

In his main recordings he has a disc recorded with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, several discs by Siempre Así, Pascual González, Antilopez (disc recorded between London, Los Angeles and Seville), and other artists.

Also highlight the recordings of the soundtracks When everything is in order and Hotel Danube among others.
