Rus Nerwich

Saxophonist, producer and song writer, Rus Nerwich has established himself as one of South Africa's most prolific and inventive recording and performing artists.

Nerwich is constantly exploring different sound palettes and genres. At home in both the acoustic and electronic space. His work reflects a profound musicality and contemporary sensibilty.

Driven by a passion for communicating, be it through sound or words, he has developed a unique creative style that draws on his diverse musical and theatrical influences, culminating in musically rich, sometimes wacky and always entertaining performances.

Rus Nerwich plays Henri SELMER Paris 'Reference 54' Tenor and 'Série III' soprano saxophones.

I think of myself as a story teller, aiming to create with fellow musicians a sonic and tonal space that the listener can meld into.

Series III soprano

The Series III Soprano ensures greater playability, particularly as regards pitch and blowing.

The blowing emission of its high register extended to high G has been largely facilitated. Selecting a straight or curved neck allows to get well acquainted with it.

Tenor Saxophone
Reference 54 Tenor

The 'Reference 54', more centered than the 'Reference 36', is inspired by the design of the famous 'Mark VI' made from 1954 onwards.
