Maguy Giraud

Maguy Giraud started playing the clarinet in Richard Rimbert's class at the Conservatoire National de Région de Bordeaux.

In 2001, she won a 2nd prize at the Dos Hermanas - Sevilla International Competition. That same year, she joined Michel Arrignon's class at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she obtained her Diplôme de Formation Supérieur in 2005.

Attracted by both chamber music and orchestral work, she pursues a course of perfection in chamber music at the CNSMDP with her trio, the Trio Aumage (violin-clarinet-piano). She had the opportunity to work with Claire Désert, to play at major events such as La Roque d'Anthéron or La Cour des Grands at Radio France or to participate in the creation of works dedicated to her ensemble (Osten by François Rossé and Trio Aumage by Yves Chauris)

Her orchestral experience has led her to play in the great French national orchestras (Bordeaux, Toulouse, Ile-de-France, Brittany), to participate in tours in Eastern Europe and regularly in China and Japan, and to work under the direction of world-renowned conductors.

In October 2007, Maguy joined the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire as principal clarinet.
