José Luis Estelles, a native of Valencia, is one of the best Spanish clarinetists today. He has played both chamber and orchestral music, and has been principal clarinet in many large European ensembles in Spain, Belgium, Germany and England…
Since 1991, he is principal clarinet of the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada (Granada, Spain). He also pursues a career as a conductor which allows him to cover a vast repertoire: Brahms, Beethoven, Strauss, Messiaen, Schoenberg and Stravinsky.
Very attached to the training of new generations, he teaches mainly at the Centro Superior de Música del País Vasco - Musikene, but also in many European countries on the occasion of courses.
