Esteban Valverde studied the clarinet at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Vigo. He finished his studies with honourable mention. He then went on to perfect his skills with Danny Granados, Antonio Saiote and Alois Brandhofer in New York, Porto and Salzburg. He obtained his doctorate at the University of Vigo.
Since 1992 he has been teaching clarinet at the Professional Conservatories of Pontevedra, Ourense and Vigo, where he was director from 2003 to 2015. He was also an advisor to the Education Council of the Government of Galicia from 2008 to 2011.
Since 2015 he has been director and clarinet teacher at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Vigo.
Esteban Valverde has played with several Spanish orchestras such as the Malaga Sinfonic Orchestra and the Barcelona Orchestra. He has played in several European countries and has collaborated with several institutions by giving clarinet master classes. He is an professor honoris causa at the National Academy of Music of Ukraine (Kiev).
Esteban Valverde has been president of the Spanish Clarinet Association since 2017.
He plays the Henri SELMER Paris Privilège clarinets.
