Chiharu Lemarié

As the first Japanese woman to join Claude Delangle’s saxophone class from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, Chiharu Lemarié obtained her Diploma of Higher Education in 2000.

During this course of study, she was one of the winners of the International Competitions of St-Nom-La-Bretèche Music, in Picardie, UFAM as a soloist as well as unanimously earning a prize of honor from the chamber music competition of UFAM in 2002.

Her career began in Japan, where she performed as a soloist (recitals with piano, NHK radio, etc.), also in orchestra (Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra) and taught at the Nagoya College of Music.

During her career as a player, she had the chance to rub shoulders with several composers and several works have been dedicated to her (Saxophone Quartet “Choreographic suite” by Claude Pascal, Sonata for Alto saxophone and Tenor Saxophone by Jean-Pierre Beugniot, the famous study “Moustik study “by Bernat Vivancos, etc. ...), and recorded several discs on the repertoire of Classic Saxophone in particular a disc devoted to the repertoire of Duo of Saxophones with Duo Lemarié as well as a quartet of saxophones with a disc of works by Claude Pascal distributed by the Polymnie label.

She is a permanent professor of Saxophone at the Conservatory of Paris 6ème since 2008, Chiharu also teaches at the Flaines International Music Academy, at Music’avesty and is regularly invited to a Masterclass in both Japan and Taiwan.

Creator of events to promote the classical and contemporary repertory of the Saxophone, she is one of the Co-Founders of the “Parisian” Saxophone Competition.

Chiharu Lemarié plays the Soprano Saxophone Series III Gold plated with solid silver neck, the Alto Saxophone series II gold plated as well as the Tenor Saxophone Series II varnished with gold plated neck.
