Alex Singleton

Alex Singleton is a professional saxophonist, educator, and wind instrument repair technician.

Alex Singleton is currently employed as the saxophone instructor at Chattanooga State Community College and Covenant College.

As a performer, Alex was a concerto competition winner during his time at The University of West Georgia. Shortly after this he was invited to be an endorsing artist and clinician for the Conn-Selmer and Henri SELMER Paris companies, known for their world-renowned saxophones and other wind instruments. Recently, he has been expanding his artistic palate to encompass a wider variety of music accessible to both the performer and audience. This has led to his pursuit of multiple consortiums for new music and performances that include everything from contemporary classical chamber music to The Black Jacket Symphony, a band dedicated to recreating the sound of some of the greatest rock albums of all time.

As an educator, he maintains a private saxophone studio in East Tennessee and Northern Georgia, where he teaches players of all ages, of varying skill levels, and in a range of different styles. These students are frequently seen in local and state level honor bands, clinics, and competitions. He is also in demand to present saxophone performance, educational, as well as woodwind repair masterclasses and clinics throughout the United States.

Alex firmly believes in continuously pursuing his own growth and believes himself perpetually a student of the arts. His primary saxophone teachers have been Tracy Wright, Clint Schmitt, Amy Griffiths, and John Bleuel. When possible, Alex was actively involved with saxophone institutions such as The American Saxophone Academy where he studied briefly with Timothy McAllister, Otis Murphy, Kenneth Tse, Chien-Kwan Lin, Carrie Koffman, and Connie Frigo.
