One of the well-known references in Spain on the current clarinet quartet scene. It`s composed of Josep Arnau, Pablo Fernández, Justo Sanz and Salvador Salvador. They are dedicated and experienced musicians from a wide musical background, ranging from symphonic to chamber quarter music as well as in the academic field. Their first concert was on January 25, 2004 at the “Canal de Isabel II” Auditorium in Madrid and was broadcast by RNE

MAD4Clarinets have performed in some of the most important and prestigious musical events in Spain (The Madrid National Music Auditorium, Festival de Otoño de la Comunidad de Madrid, Ciclo Ibermúsica, Festival de música contemporánea de Alicante, Festival de Santander, Venice Biennale Festival Off Arteria, FestivalCOMA'11, “ClarinetFest” 2015) receiving critical and public acclaim.

Some of the highlights of their recent performances include the premier of “Concierto del Cuatro” of Cristóbal Halffter conducted by José Ramón Encinar, playing with the Orchestra of “Comunidad de Madrid”. They also performed the works of José Zárate, Sebastián Mariné, José Susi, Eduardo Lorenzo and Jacobo Durán-Loriga., and took part in ClarinFest 2015, where they showcased their interpretation of Bela Kovacs’ “Homage for Falla” for a quartet. This performance was dedicated to the composer and was given the name “a la Flamenca”

One of the main aims of MAD4Clarinets is to create a platform to help spread awareness of modern Spanish composers and performances of their works.
