Luis Fernández he has developed an interesting career as a soloist and chamber musician. He received prizes at the Juventudes Musicales National Competition and at the Intercentros-Melómano National Competition. He performed at the Festival Ensems de Música Contemporánea (Valencia), the Festival Internacional de Música y Danza (Granada), the Bienal del Mediterráneo de Música Contemporánea and the Semana de Música Religiosa (Cuenca). He also played at important venues such as Auditorio Nacional (Madrid), Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona), Auditorio de Zaragoza and Palau de la Música (Valencia), as well as in many European countries.
Mr. Fernández has worked with composers such as Tomás Marco, Leonardo Balada, José María Sánchez-Verdú and Luca Francesconi. He was also invited to perform with the Ensemble Espai Sonor and Grup Instrumental de Valencia. His music was broadcast at the RNE, the Catalunya Ràdio, Transópera, IVM and PrimTON. Next recordings will appear in labels Naxos and Orpheus.
As an orchestra player he was a member of the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España and collaborates with orchestras such Orchestra of Valencia, Madrid Symphony Orchestra and Spanish National Orchestra, being conducted by Jesús López-Cobos, Christian Zacharias, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Eliahu Inbal, Gustavo Dudamel, Zubin Mehta and Vladimir Fedoseyev.
Luis Fernández studied at the Conservatorio Superior de Valencia with José Cerveró and he completed his master with Wenzel Fuchs, Fabrizio Meloni, François Benda and Joan Enric Lluna. Other musicians like Eduard Brunner, Cristo Barrios, José-Luis García-Asensio and Lorenzo Coppola had an important influence on his artistic training and professional career.
