Nicolas Arsenijevic


After brilliant studies at CRR de Cergy-Pontoise (with Jean-Yves Fourmeau) and Saint-Maur (with Nicolas Prost), this young saxophonist, born in 1988, studied with Christian Wirth before being admitted to the first-named unanimously Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris where he worked with Claude Delangle. He has won numerous awards in major competitions: Concours International de Nantes and European Competition Gap (2008), International Competition in Nova Gorica Slovenia (2011), International Competition in Italy Chieri (2011) ... He also a semi-finalist at the prestigious International Competition Adolphe Sax from Dinant (Belgium) in 2010.

Nicolas Arsenijevic acquired parallel in recent years, a great stage experience. So he created in 2007, Oblivion Quintet with whom he gives numerous concerts everywhere in France: Paris, Laval, Alençon ... He has also performed in recital with pianist Françoise Buffet at Gap in 2009 (European University of Saxophone), and the Musée Jacquemart-André in Paris in 2009 and 2011. In 2012, he played in Ljubljana with pianist Zoltan Peter as part of the programming of the Society of Slovenian Composers, where he created the play "Visshudi" Peter Savli, saxophone and percussion. He participated as a soloist in several concerts with orchestra, particularly with the Slovenian String Chamber Orchestra in Ljubljana and with the Chieri Chamber Orchestra in Italy (concertos by Glazunov and Larsson). He has also performed under the direction of Philippe Bender, Bruno Mantovani, of Fayçal Karoui and Patrick Fournillet. He interprets "L'Arlesienne" by Bizet with the Lamoureux Orchestra (June 2012), and starred in the oratorio "The Virgin" by Massenet at the Notre Dame de Paris in April 2013.

With the Ensemble Saxophone CNSMDP it happened, in diverse and varied programs, in Paris at the Théâtre du Châtelet, in Douai, Vannes, and the Younger Hall of St. Andrews, Scotland. He is also member of Quatu'or Laloi (founded in 2008) excelling in the mix of genres - tango, jazz, music of Central Europe and the Balkans, classical music, contemporary creation - and constantly exploring new horizons.C ' in mind, the quartet performed a Balkan music program with accordionist-improviser Sébastien Farge and also founded, in 2010, the Festival "Saxophonie" Saint-Junien. In 2012, the Laloi Quatu'or created the musical show "The Restaurant", which will be presented in many venues in the Paris region and will win a great success. This show will again be given to Paris from September 2013 (thirty dates established in Aktéon Theatre and Theatre 12).
Open to all new experiences, Nicolas Arsenijevic also involved in contemporary creation and works with many composers. Under the aegis of Saariaho, it creates the play "Transliterations II" Carlos Castelarnau (April 2013), working with Juan Arroyo and interprets his work "Sikuri II" for tenor saxophone and electro-acoustic device (May 2013). Florentin Ginot with bassist and actor Hervé Péjaudier, it also develops the reading-concert "sequence (s)", mixing Sequenzas Luciano Berio and Dante's poems.
After winning in 2012 the Grand Prix of the Academy of Music in Flaine, Nicolas Arsenijevic will give, in August 2013, a recital with pianist Nima Sarkechik. On the program: creation of the play "Tfila" for alto saxophone and piano, Serge Kaufmann. Nicolas Arsenijevic is also winner of the Cziffra Foundation since November 2013.
