Antonino Mollica



Born in Messina (Sicily) where in 2001 he obtained a Master's in saxophone performance at the Messina National Music Conservatory. Attracted by the internationally-renowned French School of Saxophone, he continued his studies at the Conservatories in Bourges, Bourg la Reine and Evreux, before gaining a place in 2006 at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (Paris Higher National Conservatory of Music). As only the second Italian saxophonist to be admitted to this prestigious institution, he studied under Gilles Tressos, Claude Delangle, Laszlo Hadady, Patrick Moutal, Alexandros Markeas and Vincent le Quang. In 2010 he was awarded a Master's in Saxophone Teaching, together with first prize for Generative Improvisation. In 2011 he also gained a Certificate in Indian Music.

Antonino Mollica has won a number of competitions (First prize at the Palermo Benedetto Albanese, UFAM, AGIMUS Brindisi) and has performed in Italy, France (Musée d’Orsay Auditorium, Cité de la Musique), Germany, Belgium, Spain, Malta and China. Supported by the Société Générale’s Musical Patronage programme and by the Meyer Foundation, he gives regular masterclasses in France and abroad.

After being awarded the Certificat d’Aptitude de saxophone, France’s highest diploma for teaching in artistic disciplines, and the Master Degree in saxophone teaching, he is currently teaching saxophone at the “Artemuse” Departmental Conservatory in Marne la Vallée.
