Rus Nerwich

Saxophonist, Composer and Writer Rus Nerwich was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, He began playing Saxophone at the age of 17 after hearing Saxophonist Andy Thomson Jamming with his dad, South African drummer, Harold Nerwich. Rus then enrolled in the University of Cape Towns Jazz Studies program under the tutelage of Rene Mc Lean. Shortly before graduating he left to go and live in London. This began a 4 year period of travelling and performing. Countries included Israel, Turkey and Argentina. In 2003 Nerwich began recording and released As Above So Below and then Beyond the Walls. He toured extensivelly in South Africa and began touring in Europe with frequent visits to Czech Republic and Belgium. In 2006 Mantras4ModernMan was released. 2008 saw the release of the SAMA nominated album Under The Poetree. Since Nerwich has continue to tour Europe annually and is releasing his latest album The Wondering Who in April 2013. Future tours are planned for September in Belgium and France and October for Czech Republic, Germany and Holland.
