Leslie Wong

Leslie Wong Kah Ho (b. Singapore, 2 August 1982) is one of the most prolific saxophonists from Singapore. He graduated from the University of Wyoming (M.M, 2012), and the Mahidol University, College of Music (B.M, 2010). His primary teachers are Dr. Scott Turpen and Shyen Lee.

As a performer, he has performed with various musical groups in Singapore and abroad such as the Academies Festival Orchestra, Changrai Youth Orchestra,Singapore Jazz Orchestra, the SAF Music and Drama Company and the University of Wyoming Wind Ensemble. Highlights of his career include working with famed singer Dame KiriTeKanawa, conductors Julian Reynolds, William Johnson, Toshio Akiyama, Toru Miura and composer Eric Whitacre.

Leslie co- founded the Amigo Saxophone Quartet in 2008, a group which has performed educational tours since 2009, in parts of Asia, such as Bangkok, Hatyai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Macau and Singapore. The Amigo Saxophone Quartet is an advocate of new saxophone music, and has premiered new works by Dr. Jeremiah Li Kai Han, Dr. Zechariah Goh and Dr. Richard Tsang, among others

From 2006 to 2010, Leslie was a grant recipient from the National Arts Council (Singapore) for his studies at the Mahidol University, College of Music. In 2010, he was awarded the honorary Brandon L. Hudson award for his work with the Western Thunder Marching Band. In 2011, Leslie was nominated into Pi Kappa Lambda for his superior scholastic work at the University of Wyoming.

Deeply devoted as a pedagogue, Leslie is currently the lecturer of saxophone at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. He also serves as a coach to the saxophone section of various secondary school bands in Singapore and maintains an active private saxophone studio.

Leslie plays on Selmer Paris saxophones exclusively.
