Raphael was born on 15 September 1994. He received a very early musical education : the piano, the violin and the cello.
Aged 8, he took up the clarinet at the Conservatoire of Nantes while continuing studying the piano.
Three years later he gave his first soloist concert in China when he played Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto with YU Feng, the artistic director of the Beijing Opera Orchestra, conducting.
At 12, he was a prize winner of five international competitions including the Tokyo International Competition where he won the first prize and the 4 special prizes (age-group 20).
At 15, he was the youngest musician and the first clarinettist ever nominated "Revelation instrumental soloist" at the Victoires de la Musique 2010 (Classical Music Awards). Admitted at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique of Paris with unanimous acclaim from the jury at the age of 14, he obtained in June 2011 the bachelor’s degree with high honors.
Raphael has performed in various concert halls, Auditorium de Radio France, Cité des Congrès in Nantes, Corum in Montpellier, Palais de la Musique in Strasbourg, Arsenal in Metz, Monforthaus de Feldkirch, Atheneum in Bucharest, Cultural Center in Macao, City Hall in Hong Kong, International Forum in Tokyo.
Since his début, he has regularly been invited to appear with orchestras including the Orchestre de Bretagne, the Orchestre de Picardie, the Orchestre de Tours Région Centre, the Orchestre de Cannes PACA, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Mulhouse, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the Orchestre Symphonique de la Garde Républicaine, the Orchestre National d'Ile-de-France, the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra, the Budapest Chamber Orchestra, the Sinfonia Varsovia, the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hong Kong Wind Kamerata.
