Tzu Hao Wang

Wang Tzu-hao, now a saxophone expert performer, started to learn saxophone ever since he joined the wind band of Taipei Huajiang High School in 1999. In 2001, Wang entered the music department of the National Taiwan University of Arts and majored in saxophone under Professor Yen Ching-hsien's guidance. In 2005, he held his personal graduation concert at NTUA and cooperated with Taipei Saxophone Ensemble for IBERT concertino da camera performance. In the same year, he joined the Ministry of National Defense Symphony Orchestra and headed the saxophonists. In February of 2006, the demonstration band made performances at the International Military Band Festival held in Bremen, Germany.
After retiring from the military service in 2007, Wang traveled to France and studied in Conservatoire National de Region Ruiel-Malmansion under the chief saxophonist of Paris Opera, Professor Daniel Gremelle's instruction. In June, 2008, Wang was unanimously approved by the board of jury and graduated as the first prize winner. During his study in France, Wang was invited to perform in many occasions. He performed in the French Music Festivals in June of 2008 and 2009 at the invitation of Malmaison government.
Wang returned home in 2009 and actively took part in various performances and instruction. His concert performances of saxophone quartets in Beijing National Library and Changchun Dong Fang Theater in December of 2009 were widely praised and approved. In January, 2010, Wang was invited to perform the quartet by Guangxi Arts Institute; in April, he held his solo concerts at the KHS in Chungli and Chiayi; in May, his solo concert was held in the music hall of the music department in NTUA; and in August, he was invited to perform a solo at the opening ceremony of the International festival of the art of Clarinet in China and work with Guangxi Symphony Orchestra to play Venice Carnival Concertos. In January of 2011, a personal concert of saxophone solo was held in Forum Music and was well-appraised. In April, Wang and Chi-hsiang Wood-pipe Quartet held their annual public performances in the National Music Hall in Taipei as well as in many other cities of Asia.
Wang is currently a member of the wind band affiliated to Taipei City Symphony Orchestra, Quatuor De Saxophone Diapason, and the Chi-hsiang Wood-pipe Quartet. He is at the same time a saxophone instructor at National Defense University, and a music class saxophone teacher at New Taipei City Chung Ching Junior High School.
