Luis Zuniga

Luis Zuniga has been an active performer and educator throughout North, Central, South America and Europe. His performances explore a diverse range of styles, and he has appeared in concert halls such as Los Angeles Disney Hall, New York Lincoln Center, Colorado Boettcher Concert Hall, Miami Lincoln Theatre, Panama City Anita Villalaz and the Grand National Theater of Panama City, Panama. He is currently the cofounder/alto saxophonist of the Panama International Saxophone Quartet, which actively tours Central America. Zuniga also appears regularly as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of his native Panama.
As an educator, Zuniga has given clinics at universities and schools throughout the United States and Central America. And currently holds positions of visiting professor at the University of Panama and the National Conservatory of Panama.
His formal studies include a Doctorate in Musical Arts and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado, Boulder, a Masters in Music from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a Bachelor in Music from the University of Miami, Florida. His former instructors include world-class saxophonists/teachers Gary Keller, Douglas Masek, Tom Myer and Jean-Yves Fourmeau
